Unfortunately PFG's food bank is having to close
We have delivered our foodbank for 15 years and it has been a lifeline for so many people. It has been a difficult decision but we have seen increasing demand, fewer donations and we simply can’t afford to purchase the food anymore.
We have been grateful over the years to receive support from our council, which has always helped but does not cover the true cost. We are unable to continue doing this in a climate where we are having to make cuts whilst facing increasing costs.
But do not worry ….. we are committed to making sure no one goes hungry in our community. We are going big on our other food projects that include:
1. Daily collection from supermarkets with food free to take every day from outside The Wellness Centre.
2. Our Fairshare £5 bags every Wednesday.
3. Pay as you feel evening community shop.
4. Hot meals at The Wellness Centre.
Our foodbank will run until we have used the food that we have. We will continue to run the hygiene bank.
